Photos of drywall, baseboard, and carpet don’t tell you much on their own. Seeing the same room before and after does. That’s why we document every Brooklyn job from first assessment to final walkthrough. The before shots show what water, fire, or mold actually does inside a home. The after shots show what a proper restoration looks like when the price was written before work started and the crew followed IICRC, RIA, and IFA standards throughout. Here’s what that transition looks like in real Brooklyn homes.

Burst Supply Line in Park Slope Brownstone

A braided stainless supply line let go overnight on the third floor, and by morning water had traveled down two levels. We extracted standing water, set up Dri-Eaz drying equipment, and monitored psychrometrics until the hardwood hit its dry standard. The floor was sanded, refinished, and sealed; the baseboard in the parlor was replaced and painted. The homeowner’s adjuster received photo documentation at every step, from initial scope of loss to the final moisture map.
Kitchen Grease Fire in Williamsburg

A grease fire above the stove spread soot through the entire first floor before the FDNY got it out. We cleaned all surfaces, sealed the odor at the source, and worked with the adjuster on what could be restored versus what needed replacement. Cabinets were degreased, primed, and repainted; the range hood and one section of countertop were replaced. The homeowner got a written scope before we touched anything, and the final bill matched it.
Mold Behind a Bathroom Wall in Bay Ridge

A slow leak at the shower valve fed mold behind the wall for months before anyone noticed. We contained the area, removed the affected drywall, and treated the framing with an antimicrobial before rebuilding. Drying equipment from Phoenix and B-Air ran until moisture readings were normal, then the wall was closed up with new tile and grout. The homeowner was glad we found it when we did – another month and the studs themselves would have needed replacement.
Sewage Backup in a Bensonhurst Basement

A backed-up main line pushed sewage into a finished basement, soaking carpet, drywall, and a storage closet. This is a category 3 water loss, which means the porous materials had to go – not be dried and kept. We removed the contaminated carpet and drywall, sanitized the concrete slab, and dried the space to standard before rebuilding. The new flooring and drywall went in after the adjuster approved the scope, and we handled the paperwork for the claim.
Radiator Leak in a Clinton Hill Co-op

A radiator valve failed while the owner was away for the weekend. Water ran through the floor into the unit below, warping oak flooring and staining the ceiling underneath. We pulled the standing water, set up Injectidry drying mats on the hardwood, and brought the subfloor back to a stable moisture level. The floor was sanded and refinished, the ceiling below was repainted, and the co-op board got a full packet of documentation for their records. Both units were back to normal in under two weeks.
Attic Mold in Ditmas Park Victorian

Poor attic ventilation trapped moisture against the sheathing every winter, and by spring the mold was visible from the attic hatch. We contained the attic, treated the sheathing, and then fixed the actual problem: the airflow. New soffit baffles and a balanced ridge-and-eave vent system were installed so moisture can’t build up again. The homeowner now has a dry attic, and the mold hasn’t returned since.
