Water doesn’t care what time it is, and neither do the people who show up at your door when a pipe lets go at 2 a.m. The Keegan Restoration Brooklyn crew is built around that simple reality. We’re technicians who’ve worked basements in Park Slope, high-rises in Downtown Brooklyn, and brownstones in Bed-Stuy. Some of us came up through flood work after Sandy. Others started in construction and moved into drying science later. What unites us is a shared annoyance at half-done work, so we don’t leave it behind.
Restoration work we handle

Our People
Marcus T. – Lead Water Damage Technician
Marcus has been running water damage jobs in Brooklyn for over a decade, and he’s the guy who walks the property first and builds the drying plan. He holds IICRC certifications in Water Damage Restoration and Applied Structural Drying, which means he’s the one calculating how many air movers and dehumidifiers a space actually needs, not just filling the room with fans and hoping. He’s pulled flooded basements in Clinton Hill, soaked hardwood in Cobble Hill, and ceiling collapses in older prewar buildings where the plaster holds water like a sponge. Marcus is quietly obsessive about psychrometrics, which is just a fancy word for how moisture moves through air and materials. Off the clock, he restores old motorcycles, and he’ll tell you drying a crankcase and drying a wall cavity have more in common than anyone wants to admit.
Elena R. – Mold Remediation Specialist
Elena runs our mold remediation work, and she’s the person who will tell you the truth about what’s behind that musty smell in your bathroom wall. She’s RIA-certified and has spent years on containment setups, air scrubbers, and the unglamorous work of crawling into crawlspaces most people forget exist. Her specialty is older Brooklyn housing stock: the kind with steam risers, shared walls, and bathrooms stacked floor over floor, where a small leak upstairs turns into a mold problem downstairs before anyone notices. She’s the one who’ll explain the difference between surface mold you can clean and colonization inside drywall that needs to come out. Elena keeps a running mental map of every rowhouse block she’s worked, and she bakes bread on weekends, which is a strange hobby for someone who spends her week fighting fungus, but she stands by it.
Devon W. – Fire Restoration Lead
Devon leads fire damage jobs, which in Brooklyn usually means a kitchen fire in a fourth-floor walk-up or an electrical fire in an older building with wiring that predates the current code by a few decades. He’s been doing restoration work for eight years, with a focus on smoke and soot removal, content cleaning, and structural odor treatment. Devon is our go-to for the tedious work of cleaning every surface in a room, including the ones you can’t see, because smoke gets into places water never will. He’s got a dry sense of humor and a strong opinion about people who try to wash soot off walls with a sponge and a bucket of water, which just pushes the stain deeper. When he’s not on a job, he coaches youth basketball in Flatbush, where he’s known for making kids run extra laps if they don’t box out.
Priya S. – Service Coordinator
Priya is the voice on the phone at midnight, and she’s been with Keegan Restoration Brooklyn for six years. Her job is to get the details fast: where the water is coming from, what floor it’s on, whether the breaker has been shut off, and whether anyone is in immediate danger. She dispatches the crew, keeps the homeowner updated while we’re in transit, and handles the documentation trail that insurance companies actually want to see. Priya knows the difference between a burst supply line and a backed-up drain just from the way a caller describes it, which saves us time before the truck even moves. She’s the reason our response works the way it does, and she has a legendary tolerance for being called at 4 a.m. by people who apologize for calling at 4 a.m. She also keeps a plant on her desk that’s somehow still alive despite the fact that she never waters it, which the crew finds suspicious.
One Standard, Every Job
Every person on this team works the same way, and that’s not an accident. It’s The Garrison Standard, and it applies to every job we run in Brooklyn: the price goes in writing before any work starts, technicians arrive background-checked and in uniform, the job gets done by the book, and the site is left clean when we leave. Each member of our crew knows the five values of The Garrison Code, from Marcus showing up inside the promised window to Devon standing behind a repair for a full year under our 365-Day Done Right Promise. We’re independently owned and operated, which means the people on this page are the actual people in your home. No rotation of subcontractors you’ve never heard of. The person who writes the scope of loss is the same person doing the work or directly supervising it, and the documentation we produce is formatted so your insurance claim doesn’t stall. That’s how it works here, and that’s how it’s worked since we joined the Garrison Partners family in 2005.
Written by Shane Pruitt, Owner, Keegan Restoration Brooklyn. If you’ve got water where it shouldn’t be, call (607) 325-7185 and you’ll get Priya or Marcus on the line. Prices are in writing before we start. That’s the whole point.
